DewertOkin introduces its new agricultural division: with linear drives for agricultural machinery

  • Components for harvesting machines, stable technology, etc.
  • Engineering expertise and many years of experience in the agricultural sector
  • Powerful and sturdy linear drives with a compact design

Kirchlengern/Hannover, 11. September 2019: Premiere for Dewert Agritech at Agritechnica: The drive manufacturer DewertOkin is presenting the product portfolio from its new division. The trade fair presentation will focus on powerful and compact linear drives for agricultural machinery. Applications range from self-propelled harvesting machines, agricultural attachments to sorting technology and facilities for stable/stall technology. The company is leveraging its deep engineering expertise in drive technology for the agriculture sector. The long-term goal is to establish Dewert Agritech as a supplier of complete system solutions in the Western European market.

"As the trends towards automation and the integration of intelligent machine controls in agricultural engineering continue, electromechanical drive technology will play a key role in the future," explains Martin Neuburger, Global Market Manager at Dewert Agritech. "With our new linear drives, users benefit from high precision because of the precise adjustability." The new Dewert Agritech division combines the company's decades of experience and deep engineering expertise in the field of industrial drive technology. This is reflected in the workers. Expert employees working in research and development who previously worked for well-known manufacturers of agricultural machinery are contributing their experience in the development of pioneering technologies.

At Agritechnica, Dewert Agritech will be presenting its LD75, LD600 and LD1000 linear drives for agricultural machinery, featuring different power capacities and equipment options. They are especially designed to be versatile and robust. Thanks to their compact design, they can be installed in confined spaces. All drives are also equipped with maintenance-free 12-volt or 24-volt DC motors. They are designed for use under extreme conditions. The drives feature robust die-cast aluminium housings, high temperature resistance, stainless steel pushing rods and IP69k protection. This level of protection enables usage for agricultural applications, since the linear drives can withstand a high-pressure water jet and prevent any water ingress. Thus, they are very durable and perfect for use in extreme agricultural environments.

Precise regulation and cost-efficiency
Electromechanical drives have clear advantages over hydraulic drives, says Neuburger. "The regulatory mechanisms used in fertilizer spreaders, for example, can be controlled much more precisely and, above all, directly. This enables selective, needs-based fertilization and helps to reduce operating costs and save valuable resources." The direct integration into the machine controller also enables the communications between different machine components and the resulting linear motion. It is also easy to retrofit them into existing machines. The linear drives are more cost-efficient, reliable and durable. There is no need to replace lines, control blocks, hydraulic filters or pumps, and the drive is not sensitive to environmental temperature fluctuations.

In the long term, Dewert Agritech aims to become a system provider that offers complete solutions from a single source in addition to providing individual components. Dewert Agritech takes advantage of the synergy with its parent company Phoenix Mecano, which, together with its subsidiaries, covers the entire range of mechanical components including monitor mounts, controls and enclosures. "We also offer our customers a worldwide service and sales network with individualized support and consulting. We are able to implement customized design requests or the production of small quantities reliably and, above all, quickly," says Neuburger

With a view to the future, applications with agricultural robotics and automation are also very exciting – especially swarm technology and feeding robots. "Linear drives will make an important technological contribution to this field," says Neuburger.

Dewert Agritech is presenting at Agritechnica 2019 in Hall 17 at Stand B46.
